The Treasure Hunt
I created this game for the brackeys 2022.1 jam.
The game:
You control a pirate captain who has obtained a very special map. The map points to hidden treasure. Open the map to find the treasure, sail to it and make sure that others do not get the treasure before you do.
KEYBINDS:
- WASD or arrow keys: movement
- E: Toggle walking and sailing
- M: Toggle map;
- SPACE: Fire cannons

SFX created with BFXR.
Music is from BenSound. (Instinct, Deep Blue )

Lemme start off by saying, this game trolled me lol. But I loved it! The gameplay was fun, the controls were easy to understand and get used to. I liked that the music changed from calm to intense the second you entered combat with another ship. I was looking and looking for treasure but then I realised that it wasn't real. It was guiding me in circles. That's what I love about this game. It isn't innovative with the gameplay, but the concept itself. One critique would be that idk what the blue bar was meant for and the fact that when you get out of the boat, you can go anywhere. But overall it's a solid 7/10. Good job!
Thank you for your feedback. The blue bar is for xp, when you destroy an enemy you get some xp based on the enemy type. I have tried to limit the "walking" but it was difficult to implement so due to time contraints I just left it out.
